All other models in the Humminbird 59x series feature the same five inch high resolution display screen, while other models in the 500 series feature a number of smaller monochrome or color screens. This small screen series is offered in several configurations, including combo, portable and sonar only models.

Mounting Capabilities and Specs for the Humminbird Fish Finder

The Humminbird 597ci HD package comes with a quick release two directional mounting bracket, quick start guide, user’s manual on CD, display unit and the tri-frequency transom mount transducer.

The included quick release bracket means that you can easily remove the display, when storing during non-use. The bracket tilts and rotates, in order to optimize viewing angles of the display screen. In order to mount the display unit in a panel, you’ll need to purchase an optional kit.

The back panel of the model has connectors for the transducer, an optional cable for interface with other NMEA devices and a power cable. The display on the front of the model measures n at a little over three inches. The display has a front panel footprint, measuring in at six inches wide and five inches high. The overall depth is at three inches. The single card slot for the SD card is protected from the elements with the use of the gasketed cover.

Consumers found that the display screen itself provided excellent visibility, even in bright sunlight. The images appear sharp, with little reflectivity present. The screen also somewhat darkens when viewing through polarized glasses. Visible at all angles, the high resolution screen shows fine details. There was also no screen fogging issues.

Selecting the white background for chart viewing will show the land areas in yellow and water in white, switching to the blue palette option will change the land to brown and the water to blue, while picking the black palette will change the water to black and the land areas to brown. The white palette helps to enhance daytime viewing, while black should primarily be used to enhance viewing at night.
