Not only is this fish finder highly accurate, but it’s also impressively fast. Some of the other top features include easy viewing capability even in bright sunlight, built-in 50 channel GPS antenna, Navonics charting, dual channel sonar, 5.7 inch display screen and built-in temperature sensor. The fact that this fish finder is waterproof means that it’s an excellent choice for open cockpit installation.

Raymarine Dragonfly 6 Review: CHIRP Sonar Channels

Featuring intuitive navigation, the 6 uses two CHIRP sonar channels to provide high quality images on the display. The first channel is the high resolution Down Vision channel, while the second is the high resolution sonar channel, which targets fish. These technologies work together and can be viewed at the same time, should you choose to watch it in split screen mode, or you can watch each sonar channel independently.

Because this model is waterproof, it’s safe to use on rough waters, without the worry of water damage. You can mount this fish finder just about anywhere, using the included hardware and mounting bracket. Once you’ve installed this device it can be secured with the swivel and tilt quick release holster. The holster also comes with an optional locking core.

What Consumers had to say about the Dragonfly 6

The transducer is described as huge, durable and overall, pretty perfect. According to most consumers, the display screen resolution is nothing short of incredible. Obviously, the ability to easily view the display screen during a sunny day is very important. Fortunately, consumers had no issues viewing the display in bright light or on overcast days. Some consumers felt that a big downside involved the size of the display screen. While other customers who purchased this device felt that despite the size of the display, the 6 still delivered a crystal clear viewing experience and if it was a few inches larger it would completely crush any other model on the market.  Some consumers felt that at times the transducer could be a bit touchy, which has a negative impact on the speed of the images, but this issue is easily remedied if installed correctly.

How Consumers Rated the Dragonfly 6 by Raymarine

Consumers gave this user friendly model five out of five stars for picture quality, accuracy and navigation technology. A little on the pricey side for a model of this size, it’s still a great choice for both the newbie and the pro angler.  This fish finder by Raymarine is currently priced at $634.70.
